چکیده

Background: Considering the increased rate of microbial resistance to antibiotics and chemical side effects antibiotics, there is a need for an alternative antimicrobial agent with fewer complications. Medicinal plants are rich resources phytochemical compounds antibacterial activity that could fight off this problem. Objectives: The aim research was investigate composition, antimicrobial, antibiofilm properties Malva sylvestris on some pathogenic bacteria. Methods: Antibacterial effect extract assessed by well diffusion broth microdilution methods against Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli. anti-biofilm property also examined using crystal violet assay. Finally, constituents phenolic were determined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), respectively. Results: methanolic M. showed all tested Gram-negative Gram-positive strains agar method. minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranged from 21.9 ± 0.1 51.9 0.5 mg/mL microorganisms. In addition, bactericidal (MBC) spanned 43.7 85.8 0.3 mg/mL. biofilm (BIC50) found be 40 - 87 Analysis GC-MS indicated most abundant 1-heptacosanol (38.41%), 17-Pentatriacontene (19.78%), 6,9,12,15-docosatetraenoic acid, methyl ester (8.08%). High-performance confirmed presence apigenin (6.84 ppm) salicylic acid (1.5 as in extract. Conclusions: results study represent high potency source biologically-active development future phytotherapeutic products activity.
